2006 dodge caravan review this car review is specific to this model, not the actual vehicle for sale. Smooth riding and responsive, most come with a powerful v6 engine that delivers strong acceleration for merging onto hectic freeways. Anti-lock brakes and side-impact airbags are available. And there's a model for every budget.  dodge redesigned the seating system last year, and the result is one of the most versatile interiors available for a family vehicle. Called stow 'n go, the optional system features second-row and third-row seats that flip down into the floor, leaving a huge, perfectly flat cargo compartment behind the front seats. And its cargo space is more accessible and more convenient than that of suvs.  with the seats in place, the grand caravan can carry seven. Selectively folding away the seats allows versatility in hauling a mix of passengers and cargo. No need to pull the seats out and store them in the garage or to try to put stuff on top of them.  the current model dates back to 1996, but dodge has continuously improved it since then. The 2005 model year brought substantial upgrades. It comes with hand-crank windows, manually adjusted mirrors, and a limited list of options, although rear-seat video entertainment is now available on all caravan models. It does have standard air conditioning, variable intermittent wipers, am/fm/cd stereo, and 215/70 tires on 15-inch steel wheels. The tire-pressure monitor is standard, but stow'n go seats are not available.  caravan sxt 22,225) is the short van equipped with a 3. 3-liter v6 and a higher level of standard equipment, though it does not get stow 'n go. Sxt does add second-row bucket seats, dual-zone manual air conditioning, tilt steering, cruise control, power windows, power heated mirrors, power locks with remote keyless entry, an upgraded am/fm/cassette/cd stereo, a rear window defroster, sunscreen glass, 215/65 tires on 16-inch aluminum wheels, and other niceties, plus an expanded list of options.  grand caravan se 22,920) is a long-wheelbase base model similarly equipped to the caravan se. But it's powered by the 3. 3-liter v6 engine, and comes with more sophisticated airbags with occupant classification system (ocs) and driver's side inflatable knee blocker. Front seatbelts use pre-tensioners to take up slack during a collision. Middle- and third-row seats include child-seat anchors for a more secure installation. Optional side curtain airbags are designed to offer head protection for outboard occupants in all three rows. walkarounddodge caravan and grand caravan are large vehicles, but not outrageously so. Measuring 200 inches long and less than 5-feet, 9-inches tall, even the grand caravan will fit just about anywhere a full-size sedan will fit. The standard caravan measures 189. 3 inches bumper to bumper. Grand caravan's extra 11 inches makes a big difference in the amount of cargo it can carry with all three rows of seats in place. Caravan rides on a wheelbase of 113. 3 inches, while the grand caravan stretches across a wheelbase of 119. 3 inches.  grand caravan and caravan are sleek and attractive with steeply raked windshields and aggressive grilles. The tracks for the sliding side doors are cleverly camouflaged under the rear side windows for a clean appearance. The d-pillars and rear window are steeply inclined for a sporty look, and a discrete spoiler rises from the trailing edge of the roof. Flared wheel openings add strength to the appearance. Headlamps and tail lamps are big, the latter wrapping around to the sides. The optional roof rack is hunkered close to the roof, stylistically less obtrusive and perhaps less likely to generate wind noise, but also offering less clearance for the thicker hooks of some tie-downs.  for 2005, dodge freshened the caravan's appearance with a new u-shaped grille featuring black bars behind dodge's trademark body-color crosshairs, a design cue shared with the new dodge magnum. Also new was a molded-in license plate pocket and revised fog lamps, while new body-colored side moldings protected the door. These details have continued unchanged for 2006.  models with power sliding doors on both sides add convenience when moving passengers. Press the button on the remote transmitter twice and the door slides open; press it twice again and it slides closed and seals. From the second-row seat, the power sliding door can be opened and closed by pressing a button; it can also be opened manually. A safety lock switch hidden on the trailing edge of the door can be engaged to prevent a child from opening the sliding door from inside. The power sliding doors can be fussy when passengers are in a hurry to get out, however, and passengers usually are in a hurry. Pulling on the outside lever opens the power door manually, with just slightly more effort than opening a regular manual door.  the standard manually operated sliding doors are easy to operate, smoothly gliding open and closed with the pull of a nicely designed lever. The outside door handles are comfortable and well designed; they impart a feeling of quality in appearance and operation. All door handles should be this good.  a power rear liftgate is available that adds convenience when picking up groceries or supplies. Press a button on the remote control and the liftgate opens or closes automatically. The material is soft and appears to be durable. Faux carbon fiber trim added a touch of high-tech to the cabin.  the seats in the grand caravan seemed more bucket-like than those of the similar chrysler town & country, and not as comfortable. The dodge has a manually adjustable lumbar support, however, and the seatbacks seem to have more side bolstering than in the t&c. The power seat adjusters have exposed screws on them that do not feel aesthetically pleasing. The seating position is higher than that of a sedan, which enables drivers to see over traffic. The second and third rows of seats fold flat into the floor leaving a perfectly flat platform for cargo. Folding and unfolding the seats is a quick three-step process. Pull one strap to drop the seatback, then pull two other straps to tuck it into the floor. This leaves a perfectly flat platform. Very few seats fold perfectly flat and no one else (except chrysler) has a second row that does this. The system is also flexible. The third row is split 60/40 and either or both of the second-row captain's chairs can be stowed. Getting into the third row is a little awkward, but easier than in most suvs. Once back there, the third-row seating is comfortable, though the seat bottoms are steeply raked.  grand caravan se and both caravan models come standard with the traditional seating setup instead of the new stow 'n go system, so the seats must be removed to turn them into effective cargo haulers. We found the second-row bucket seats and third-row split bench easy to remove, however. 2012 dodge charger review this car review is specific to this model, not the actual vehicle for sale. An unequivocally american muscle car. introductionit's as if nobody told dodge about american cars: that they are cheap, flimsy, incompetent. To the contrary, the dodge charger is a proudly american muscle sedan, pumped, powerful, and full of swagger. Without effort, it meets that challenge and welcomes the battle. The charger is proof that american carmakers have learned that they can no longer market shoddy design and haphazard assembly. To that end, the dodge charger is a proud product of the new detroit. It's handsomely designed and has world-class fit and finish. From crankshaft to door handles, everything operates with fine precision and the promise of long-lasting service.  the dodge charger was redesigned for the 2011 model year, and there are no significant changes for the 2012 charger except that a new 2012 dodge charger srt8 has been added to the model lineup. The 2012 charger is the second year of the second generation of the modern charger. The first generation ran 2006-2010. The original was launched as a '66. The general lee bo and luke duke drove was a '69.  from the outside, this second-generation charger looks a lot like an older rendering of the american sedan, but that appearance is misleading. The retro look is a self-confident exercise in sinuous american styling.  the interior, however, is anything but old style. A first-rate, 8. 4-inch touch-screen navigation system is coupled with a rearview camera and ancillary controls for climate and audio. The latest navigation system is sensationally intuitive, transparent, and pleasing to use, among the best we've seen. It's very easy to read and very easy to understand. Underscoring this user-friendliness, the charger's audio controls for volume and tuning are accomplished with old-fashioned, practical radial knobs: what a concept! German luxury brands costing vastly more could learn from the charger's straightforward controls.  nothing else is more happily apparent in the new dodge charger than that chrysler has enthusiastically embraced the new design and quality standards dictated by detroit's recent, painful bailouts. They must build better cars at lower prices than the competition. V6 chargers earn a stellar 31 mpg highway.  the 2012 dodge charger is the classic combination: a full-size detroit sedan with strong performance and unmistakable american looks, selling at a surprisingly attractive price. Compared with the full-size dodge sedan of 20 or 30 years ago, a 2012 charger will reward the owner with exciting styling, world-class engineering and impressive value. Connectivity group for sxt 395) includes voice command with bluetooth, auto-dimming rearview mirror, leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls and leather-wrapped shift knob. Charger r/t 29,995) features the 5. 7-liter 370-bhp hemi v8 with decel fuel shut off (dfso). Adaptive cruise control group for sxt plus, r/t plus, and r/t road & track 925) adds forward collision warning with adaptive cruise control and heated steering wheel. Navigation group 795) includes voice command with garmin navi, sirius traffic, sirius travel link, and parking view rear backup camera.  safety features on all dodge chargers includes electronic traction control (tcs), electronic stability control (esc), anti-lock brakes (abs), electronic brake distribution (ebd), brake assist, rain brake support, hill-start assist, automatic headlamps, active front head restraints, all federally mandated airbags (seven), front seatbelt pretensioners, lower anchors and tethers for children (latch), occupant restraint controller. Available all-wheel drive can improve handling stability in adverse conditions, and the available rearview camera can help the driver spot a child behind the car when backing up. walkaroundthis latest-generation dodge charger is immediately recognizable. The front says it's a dodge, a design theme that began life on, of all things, the upright first-generation dodge ram pickup truck. The two vehicles could not be more different, yet the aggressive, muscular cruciform grille suits both perfectly. Achieving that kind of unmistakable model-line identity is no small achievement.  in like manner, the tail of the charger uses the same array of full-width taillamps made famous on the charger in the '60s. It's a handsome look that is instantly recognizable to anyone familiar with historic dodge styling cues. The charger expresses pride in where dodge, chrysler corporation, and for that matter, all american cars have been during the last few turbulent decades.  the body of the second-generation modern charger is crisply styled throughout. It is considerably edgier and more muscular than its immediate predecessor, which had great promise but was, by comparison, a bit of a lump. Along the sides of the car are slanting, angular indentations that echo the racy rear-facing engine-room vents made so famous on the all-conquering dodge viper supercar. In the charger, these are unmistakably bad looking in all of the right street-savvy ways.  continuing this street look, in profile, the car's dramatically low roofline tapers downward rapidly at the car's mid-point. In combination with its high waistline and compressed greenhouse, the car expresses a secretive, almost hot-rod chopped appearance. Occupants seem to peer outward from sinister gun slit-like windows. Yet for all of its hunched-over appearance, the occupants' outward visibility is quite good enough.  when the charger's dynamic outward appearance is combined with its strong performance, this is an american muscle sedan with the credentials to appeal to a broad range of tastes. interiorexamining the charger's interior, we started in the back seat to investigate just how limited seating room might be underneath this low roofline. Inevitably, tall backseat passengers will have to scrunch down a little, though moderately tall riders will be just fine. The rear cabin is comfortable and roomy without being huge. The top of the backlight has multi-linear applique black stripes, providing a bit of shade from the sun and simultaneously creating the impression from outside that the rear window is even lower and more hooded.  the rear seat is firm and supportive, with a fairly hard back-cushion. A central pull-down elbow rest contains two cup holde. Power Windows✔ Anti-lock Brakes✔ Power Mirrors✔ Power Locks✔ Cruise Control✔ Backup Camera✔ Navigation System✔ Remote Start✔ Bluetooth

2002 dodge ram pickup 1500 review this car review is specific to this model, not the actual vehicle for sale. Truckville gets a new mayor. introductiondodge has completely redesigned and re-engineered its ram for the 2002 model year. This all-new pickup boasts levels of refinement and comfort that match those of the best trucks from general motors and ford. New designs from gm and ford had put them ahead on this score, but that's all changed with the 2002 dodge ram. This complete overhaul puts the dodge back on solid ground with the half-ton pickups from ford and gm. lineupdodge ram is available with two cab configurations, regular cab and quad cab. Quad cab models ride on a wheelbase that's 20 -inches longer than comparable regular cab models.  two bed lengths are available, a 6-foot, 3-inch standard bed and an 8-foot long bed. Ordering the long bed only adds about $300 to the price. Long-bed models ride on a wheelbase that's 20 inches longer than comparable short-bed models. Eight-foot long beds also get a bigger fuel tank, 35 gallons in place of the standard 26-gallon tank.  three engines are offered: most popular will be the 4. 7-liter v8, a new overhead cam design. A new 3. 7-liter v6 is available that's similar in design to the 4. 7-liter v8 is available. St comes standard with air conditioning, but is equipped with vinyl upholstery, wind-up windows, and manual door locks. Slt adds roughly $1700-$1800 and includes cloth upholstery, nicer interior trim, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a host of luxury and convenience, and wider tires. Slt plus is the luxury package, which costs in the neighborhood of $6255-$6535 and brings leather seating surfaces, dual-zone air conditioning, a premium stereo, cast aluminum wheels, and a long, long list of luxury and convenience features. Base price for a ram 4x2 regular cab st 1500 is $17,670 715 destination charge included). Ram quad cab 4x4 models start at $26,065.  heavy-duty versions of the ram will not be introduced until next year, as 2003 models. Until then, shoppers for heavy-duty ram models will be looking at the previous-generation of trucks. walkaroundthe ram's radical big-rig styling turned the pickup world upside down when it was introduced in 1994. It was a highly successful design, one that gave the dodge pickups a look of power and capability. The bold styling also helped boost sales exponentially. So dodge had no intention of turning away from the big horse-collar grille and freightliner fenders when it redesigned the ram, and the look established eight years ago has been maintained.  though evolutionary in design, the sheet metal is indeed all new. Park a 2002 ram next to a 2001 ram and the differences are striking. The design has been extensively re-sculpted for reduced wind noise and better rainwater management. The new ram looks sleek and refined compared with the previous model. The old one looks mashed down compared with the new one.  few grilles are as instantly recognizable as the massive horse collar grille of the ram. Even more massive this year, the grille distinguishes among trim levels: the horse collar is all chrome on the slt model, with a gray honeycomb center. Slt+ features a body-color grille surround and chrome cross hairs. Sport trim includes a body-color surround and cross hairs with unique chrome billets in the center.  moving rearward, the new ram presents a more robust appearance than before with a broad, sloping hood and a pronounced crown that falls to the bold front fenders. A faster, raked-back windshield improves aerodynamics and water management, and gives the new ram a more modern appearance. The leading edge of the front door overlaps the a-pillar, creating a smoother transition from the front of the cab to the side. Everything is smoother and more integrated. The big side mirrors, great for visibility, are now mounted on platforms to reduce wind noise, and a channel has been specially designed to keeps water off of the mirrors. An integrated air dam improves engine cooling and air conditioner performance.  standard bed length is 6 feet, 3 inches, but an 8-foot bed is now available for both cab styles. That's a bit much when trying to heave heavy gear aboard. interiorram interiors are completely redesigned for 2002. In fact, one of the biggest improvements offered by the new ram is in the area of comfort.  that comfort starts with roominess. To increase roominess, dodge stole 3 inches out of the bed and added more than 3 inches to the cab. The optional leather seats are also comfortable and supportive during long drives. Three-point shoulder belts are used at all locations, including the rear center seat. A big fold-down center armrest/console comes with adjustable dividers and a power outlet. White-faced instruments with turquoise numbers look sporty and trendy, but don't offer the legibility of traditional white-on-black designs, particularly at dusk. At night, the instruments are nicely illuminated in green.  the design of the audio system could be improved for ease of use. Setting a button for a station, for example, requires pressing a separate set button, rather than just holding the button down. Sliding bass and treble controls are harder to adjust than knobs when bouncing around in a pickup truck. Optional steering wheel audio controls 75) solve this with brilliantly designed buttons behind the steering wheel that are much easier to use than the awkward steering wheel controls found on gm's full-size trucks. Likewise, cruise controls on the steering wheel are easy to operate.  otherwise, the center dash is a paradigm of convenience. Large heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (hvac) buttons can be operated while wearing gloves. A textured fabric is used for trim around the audio and hvac controls, somewhat similar to what's found in volkswagens, gives the center dash a nice look and feel. Just below the hvac controls is a slot lined with a rubber mat that's perfect for a wallet or other small items. A big panel below that folds down with adjustable cup holders. Overhead is a console with an effective pair of map lights, a trip computer, a compartment for sunglasses, and a compass, which every self-respecting truck should have.  regular cab models come fitted with a tray behind the seats big enough to hold a large bucket. Dodge even supplies the bucket, a tray designed to carry tools and such. There's even a hook just to the right of the center dash that's useful for hanging onto a couple of grocery bags; the brits call these curry hooks.  the new quad cab is quite nice. It's easy to see why. The rear seat is roomy, with enough rake to the seatback to make it comfortable for two adults. Its size also makes the rear bench seat suitable for child safety seats. All three rear seating positions can accommodate child safety seats and are fitted with tether anchors. driving impression. Air Conditioning✔ Leather Seats✔ Aluminum Wheels

2008 dodge ram pickup 1500 review this car review is specific to this model, not the actual vehicle for sale. Never before have trucks been more capable for hauling and towing nor more competent at coddling passengers. There is no mistaking a ford f-150 for a nissan titan or a toyota tundra, nor even confusing a chevy silverado with a gmc sierra. Any one of them would be a good choice from a consumer's point of view.  but it was the ram that started the high-style-truck trend back in 1994 when dodge took a risk with a bold, retro big-rig design. That truck transformed ram from a bit player with staid styling to a big-stage event. The dodge ram has run with the big boys ever since, sometimes leading, sometimes trailing, but always solidly on the bill. Whether the '08 ram is merely as good as the trucks listed above, or somewhat better, is more a matter of personal preference than anything else.  the dodge ram 1500 light-duty pickups are smooth and refined. Their cabs are comfortable and convenient, among the roomiest in their respective classes. The quad cab is handy for hauling friends and family but even the regular cab is roomy.  arguably, the ram is the best-looking truck on the market. Its styling is bold and handsome, even more so in its latest incarnation.  ram was extensively re-engineered for 2006, with a new hydroformed frame that's boxed its full length; plus new suspension and body mounts that improved ride, handling, and quietness. That same year, ram was modestly restyled inside and out.  the 2008 model year brings new life to the 4. 7-liter v8, with horsepower up 31 percent to 310 hp and torque up 10 percent to 330 pound-feet. Other updates to the 2008 dodge ram lineup include simpler maintenance intervals, trailer sway control added to the optional stability system, available tire pressure monitors, new steering hardware for 4wds, dark maple woodgrain trim on laramie, and two new colors right out of the muscle car age: sunburst orange and detonator yellow.  ram's optional hemi engine delivers power and efficiency. The switchover is seamless, and fuel economy is improved by as much as 20 percent, says dodge. Step on the gas, however, and the cylinders reawaken, ready to deliver the 345 peak ponies that make the hemi-powered ram one of the most exciting light-duty pickups on the market. Several engines are offered: a 3. 7-liter overhead-cam v6, 4. 7-liter v8, and the 5. 7-liter hemi v8. Several trim levels are offered:  st is the base model with vinyl upholstery and wind-up windows. St comes standard with air conditioning, tilt steering, variable intermittent wipers, 40/20/40 vinyl seat, am/fm/cd stereo, rear-wheel abs, 17-inch steel wheels and a full-size spare tire, and a v8 and electric-shift transfer case on 4wd. Options parallel those on the st, although the stx is the trim level for the trx4 off-road package.  slt comes standard with the 4. 7-liter flex-fuel v8, six-disc cd changer, carpeting, power windows/door locks/heated mirrors, overhead console with mini-trip computer and compass, cruise control, and 17-inch painted aluminum wheels. Options include a navigation system, sirius satellite radio, uconnect bluetooth hands-free wireless communication, 5. 7 v8, on-demand 4wd, bucket seats, six-way power driver seat and 20-inch aluminum wheels. A power sunroof and a rear-seat dvd entertainment system are available for slt quad cabs.  the sport group for the slt comes with the hemi engine and five-speed automatic transmission, unique cloth-faced bucket seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel, body-color grille and bumper fascia, fog lamps, and 20-inch chrome-clad aluminum wheels. Options are the same as for the slt.  laramie is the luxury trim level, offered only as quad cab automatic. Leather seats are standard, with a heated, split 40/20/40 bench up front and power adjustment for the driver. Options include navigation, power sunroof, adjustable pedals, and electronic upgrades.  safety features include optional side-curtain airbags designed to provide head protection in a side impact or rollover. We recommend getting them; head injuries are the leading cause of death in side impacts. An electronic stability program (esp) is optional. walkaroundthe 2008 dodge ram presents a bold, distinctive appearance with its big horse-collar grille and freightliner fenders. The concept dates back a dozen years, but it received a major redesign for 2002 and a makeover for 2006. The headlamps cut back deeper into the fenders, and a flattened front bumper on sport and laramie emphasizes ram's big-rig image. A slot in the front bumper aids engine cooling and air conditioner performance.  ram's trademark front grille remains one of the most instantly recognizable front ends on the road. A thick band of chrome surrounds the grille on st, slt and laramie; the band is body color on sport models. The broad, sloping hood has a pronounced crown that falls over the sides to the prominent front fenders, helpful for clearance, less so for seeing edges in tight quarters.  a fast, raked-back windshield enhances aerodynamics and water management, while gracefully blending modern sleekness with ram's retro lower body. The leading edge of the front door overlaps the a-pillar, creating a smooth transition from the front of the cab to the side. Everything is smooth and integrated. The big side mirrors, great for visibility, are mounted on platforms to minimize wind noise, and a channel has been specially designed to keep water off of the mirrors. That seems high when trying to heave heavy gear aboard. All beds are fitted with boat cleats designed to handle 1,000 pounds each.  ordering the long bed adds 20 inches to the wheelbase of a dodge ram. And a quad cab wheelbase is 20 inches longer than a regular cab. So a quad cab long bed has 40 more inches of wheelbase than a regular cab short bed. Long-bed rams also get a bigger fuel tank, 35 gallons in place of the standard 26 gallons; some of the latter offer a 34-gallon option. interiorthe dodge ram is among the roomiest of the full-size pickups, and its cab is a pleasant place to be. It sacrifices a few inches of bed space for interior space.  regular cab and quad cab versions offer identical roominess in the front seats. Standard front seating in the ram is a bench split 40/20/40. The narrow center section features a large fold-down armrest with a compartment big enough to hold a laptop.  we've found both the cloth and the leather seats comfortable. The driving position is good, with good visibility in all directions, though the aerodynamic front end makes it impossible to see the front corners. Big mirrors on the ram make it easy to see what's behind.  we found the bucket seats in the sport version comfortable and supportive and the sporty fabric looks durable. The latest fabrics, first introduced with the 2007 models, are designed to be more stain and odor-resistant than before, while also reducing static cling. Laramie models get silver trim adorning the door panels and instrument bezels. Laramie comes with distinctive leather trim, with higher-contrast color seat inserts.  the ram interior shows attention to details that add utility and convenience. The big fold-down center armrest/console comes with adjustable dividers and a power outlet. A hook on the passenger-side floor well is provided for securing a plastic grocery bag or anything else with suitable handles.  premium amenities such as the full-screen gps navigation radio and bluetooth hands-free communications are available, along with a rear-seat dvd system for quad cabs. We found the navigation radio to be a nice design and relatively easy to operate; these systems are getting better all the time and the latest chrysler group's systems work quite well.  overall, the center dash is a paradigm of convenience. Large heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (hvac) buttons can be operated while wearing gloves. A textured fabric is used for trim around the audio and hvac controls that gives the center dash a nice look and feel.

2007 dodge ram pickup 1500 review this car review is specific to this model, not the actual vehicle for sale. Never before have trucks been more capable for hauling and towing nor more competent at coddling passengers. There is no mistaking a ford f-150 for a nissan titan or a toyota tundra, or even a chevrolet silverado for a gmc sierra. And every one of them would be a good choice from a consumer's point of view.  but it was the ram that started the high-style-truck trend back in 1994 when dodge took a risk with a bold, retro big-rig design. That truck transformed ram from a bit player with staid styling to a big-stage event, and it's run with the big boys ever since, sometimes leading, sometimes trailing, but always solidly on the bill. Whether the '07 ram is merely as good as the trucks listed above, or somewhat better, is more a matter of personal preference than anything else.  the light-duty ram 1500 models are smooth and refined. At the same time, ram was modestly restyled, with a new bumper fascia, grille, headlamps, fenders and wheels. Inside, the instrument panel, center console and seats were revised for more car-like comfort, while new radios and entertainment features were added.  the 2007 model year brings refinements that stress safety and efficiency. An electronic stability program and remote start are now optional. Fuel efficiency is enhanced on all ram 1500s by reduce-drag brake calipers and low-rolling-resistance tires. It is an exceptionally good engine, smooth and very responsive. The switchover is seamless, and fuel economy is improved by as much as 20 percent, says dodge. Step on the gas, however, and the cylinders reawaken, ready to deliver the 345 peak ponies that make the hemi-powered ram one of the most exciting light-duty pickups on the market. Adding to the hemi's responsiveness is a five-speed automatic.  ram's standard 4. 7-liter v8, while not as powerful as the hemi, delivers responsive performance and is smooth and sophisticated, benefiting from a modern overhead-cam design. For 2007, it's available with ffv capability (flexible-fuel vehicle), allowing the option of running on standard gasoline or e-85 ethanol. The mega cab is reviewed separately by new car test drive. There is no extended-cab ram.)  two bed lengths are available: a 6-foot, 3-inch short-bed and an 8-foot long-bed. Several engines are offered: a 3. 7-liter overhead-cam v6, 4. 7-liter v8, and the 5. 7-liter hemi v8. A six-speed manual transmission comes standard with the 3. 7-liter v6 and 4. 7-liter v8. A five-speed automatic is optional with the 4. 7-liter v8 and standard with the 5. 7-liter. Several trim levels are available:  st is the base model with vinyl upholstery and wind-up windows. St comes standard with air conditioning, am/fm/cd stereo, rear-wheel abs, 17-inch steel wheels and a full-size spare tire. Options include a navigation system, sirius satellite radio, uconnect bluetooth hands-free wireless communication, bucket seats with leather upholstery, six-way power driver seat and 20-inch aluminum wheels. A power sunroof and a rear-seat dvd entertainment system are available for slt quad cabs.  laramie is the luxury trim level. Leather seats are standard, with a split 40/20/40 bench up front and power adjustment for the driver. Laramie is available only with the quad cab and comes with the automatic transmission.  the ram sport comes with the hemi engine and five-speed automatic transmission, unique cloth-faced bucket seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel, body-color grille and bumper fascia, fog lamps, and 20-inch chrome-clad aluminum wheels. Options are the same as for the slt.  the trx4 off-road model comes with unique 17-inch aluminum wheels, p265 all-terrain tires, limited-slip differential, skid plates for the transfer case and front suspension, special red-painted shock absorbers, body-color grille surround, tow hooks, and fog lamps. Otherwise, trx4 is trimmed like an slt. Trx4 comes with 4wd only, but there's also a trx package for 2wd models. Options exclusive to trx4 include lt275 light-truck tires.  a trailer tow group includes a class iv hitch receiver, seven-circuit wiring harness, 750-amp battery, heavy-duty engine cooling and auxiliary transmission oil cooler when equipped with automatic transmission. There's also a work special package designed for affordability with gray bumpers, grille, and 17x7 steel wheels.  safety features include optional side-curtain airbags designed to provide head protection in a side impact or rollover. We recommend getting them; head injuries are the leading cause of death in side impacts. Three-point shoulder belts are provided at all locations, including the rear center seat.
